Telescopic grandstands
Whether in sports facilities, multi-purpose halls, or gymnasiums, as well as in theater and studio spaces: wherever spectators are involved, the spectator stand is of central importance.
However, permanently installed grandstands require a lot of space and significantly limit the room’s usability. When planning new buildings as well as renovation projects, variable usability and versatile functionality are now essential requirements.
A telescopic grandstand offers the best alternative for flexible room usage. It is easy to operate and provides the opportunity to quickly set up excellent seating for the audience.
When no longer needed, the grandstand can just as easily be retracted to allow the space to be repurposed. In the same room with versatile usage possibilities, activities of various kinds can be optimally accommodated.
Drive types
Keyed linear drive
MTB-GmbH offers its patented linear drive for the electric operation. In this system, each row is moved by at least two 24-volt DC motors, each coupled with the row behind it, so that when retracting or extending, all rows move simultaneously. This ensures 100% synchronization.
With this type of drive, various extension configurations of a telescopic grandstand are possible with minimal effort. This is achieved purely through control technology.
Friction-wheel drive with power transmission
The motors are controlled via a control panel. In case of any skewed movement of the grandstand system, both motors can be controlled separately to compensate for the misalignment. The control can be either stationary (with a dead-man switch) or mobile.
To provide better visibility during the entire movement process, the use of wireless remote controls, as recommended by the State Trade Institute (LGA Nuremberg) as the testing authority, is preferred over other control methods.
